چکیده
Objectives: This study compared digital casts from tooth-borne and hybrid Rapid Maxillary Expansion (RME) using 3D virtual models scanned with a 3Shape laser scanner. Methods: A total of thirty patients narrow maxilla were distributed into two equal groups sequential randomization. The hyrax group (11 females 4 males) had mean age 14.5 years, whereas the conventional (10 5 13.96 years. Cone beam computed tomography orthodontic obtained before expansion six months after last activation. Eight parameters measured, data was analyzed. Results: paired t-test used to evaluate differences between pre-expansion post-expansion measurements. Interdental distance (IDD) rotations at first molar premolars showed statistically significant increase post-treatment preoperative values, arch depth incisor inclination decrease. Furthermore, B higher postoperative values greater IDD change (P≤0.05). Conclusion: RME achieved skeletal effects broaden only slight in traditional RME. Regardless appliance, may be decreased following

Periodontal effects of rapid maxillary expansion with tooth-tissue-borne and tooth-borne expanders: a computed tomography evaluation.
INTRODUCTION The force delivered during rapid maxillary expansion (RME) produces areas of compression on the periodontal ligament of the supporting teeth. The resulting alveolar bone resorption can lead to unwanted tooth movement in the same direction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate periodontal changes by means of computed tomography after RME with tooth-tissue-borne and tooth-borne ...
متن کاملComparison of two maxillary protraction protocols: tooth-borne versus bone-anchored protraction facemask treatment
BACKGROUND Protraction facemask has been advocated for treatment of class III malocclusion with maxillary deficiency. Studies using tooth-borne rapid palatal expansion (RPE) appliance as anchorage have experienced side effects such as forward movement of the maxillary molars, excessive proclination of the maxillary incisors, and an increase in lower face height. A new Hybrid Hyrax bone-anchored...

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the skeletal and dental effects of rapid maxillary expansion (RME) in cleft patients using two types of expanders. Methods: Twenty unilateral cleft lip and palate patients were randomly divided into two groups, according to the type of expander used: (I) modified Hyrax and (II) inverted Mini-Hyrax. A pretreatment cone-beam computed tomographic ...

Introduction: The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the effect of bone-borne expansion (BBE) and tooth-borne expansion (TBE) in patients with maxillary constriction. Methods: Electronic databases, including MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, were searched up to February 2019. Elig...
متن کاملComparison of two protocols for maxillary protraction: bone anchors versus face mask with rapid maxillary expansion.
OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that there is no difference in the active treatment effects for maxillary advancement induced by bone-anchored maxillary protraction (BAMP) and the active treatment effects for face mask in association with rapid maxillary expansion (RME/FM). MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a study on consecutively treated patients. The changes in dentoskeletal cephalometric var...
